SCORE Utah provides free and confidential business advice to entrepreneurs working to start new businesses and grow existing businesses . Our chapter is 50+ strong and provides workshops for the small business start-up and exisiting business.

SCORE, a non-profit association founded in 1964 with almost 400 chapters nationwide is the largest volunteer group offering business mentoring services.  SCORE and SCORE chapters are dedicated to helping existing businesses or individuals about to start, or thinking about starting a business. SCORE is a resource partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration. 

SCORE Utah is a group of 50+ volunteer business professionals, both active and retired who are dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of our nation's businesses.  

Our volunteers are successful real-world business professionals who volunteer thousands of hours to help existing and startup businesses succeed. Our volunteers are experts with experience in areas such as; accounting, finance, human resources, consulting, import/export, law, operations, production, retail, wholesale, manufacturing, sales, marketing, management, business plan preparation, strategic planning and many other business disciplines.

We offer free business mentoring to all those interested in having or running a business.  Whether you are starting a new business, growing or experiencing problems an existing business, our experienced business mentors can provide advice to help you succeed. Your mentor will meet with you one-on-one as frequently as necessary to define and analyze your business needs and opportunities.

Want to start a new business or Already in Business? 

1. We suggest you attend a SCORE Workshop. They’re presented several times each month throughout the area for your convenience. Look at our schedule. Other educational workshops and seminars at no or low cost are presented periodically that provide valuable information and techniques necessary for managing a successful business.

2. We suggest face-to-face mentoring with one of our SCORE mentors, a person who has experience owning or operating a business who can give you advice on your areas of concern.

How do you get connected with a Mentor?  Click on "Find a Mentor" on our SCORE Utah homepage where you will enter your area code and fill out some basic inquiry information so that we can set you up with a mentor with expertise in the area that you are needing business help. You will be contacted by one of our administrators regarding your appointment shortly. Mentorship sessions can take place in-person, via phone call, via video call, or via email. Mentoring starts with a one-on-one relationship with a SCORE mentor.

1. Become a Mentor: You can contribute to the growth of our community by offering confidential business mentoring services, either in-person or online. 

2. Become a Workshop Presenter: Lead local workshops in your field of expertise to help entrepenaurs meet their goals and achieve success. 

How do you find the SCORE Utah Office?  Our SCORE chapter’s home office is located in the Miller Corp Partnership Center on the second floor (Rm 201D) in Sandy, Utah. Business counseling can be conducted here as well as in several other convenient locations throughout the region.
